The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster presents their popular series Lunch ‘n Learn. On Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 12:00pm Cape Cod naturalist, Phil Kyle will present Cape Cod’s Spring Migrants: Migrant Breeders & Migrant Visitors.
Eighty percent of birds seen on Cape Cod are migrants. Join Phil as he navigates the questions: which ones are they, their special migration physiology, what do they look like, and why don’t they stay in the tropics?
Phil's mission has always been to inform people about the awesome wonder of the natural world. Since he retired in 2012 he has written a column on Birding for the Cape Cod Times Newspaper, presented for Libraries, Garden Clubs and Schools. Phil had also taught Biology and Anatomy/Physiology at the High School level, worked as a naturalist on Whale-watching boats for three summers, worked as the Head Naturalist at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and Green Briar Nature Center; He was Director of Education, South Shore Natural Science Center; he has been an Interpretive Park Ranger for the Cape Cod National Seashore and has actively birded for over 40 years. He now works summers on the Barnstable Harbor Ecotour pontoon boat as head naturalist and volunteers as a docent at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History winters.
