Wednesday, February 19, from 2-4pm. This workshop introduces acting with the hand/glove, rod, and tabletop puppets. Participants will learn how puppets are built and study the various ways the actor/puppeteer brings them to life! Together, students will explore the principles of puppet manipulation and expression through exercises and activities. Students will learn the basics of improvisation, scenes, and character development, text interpretation, principles of cooperation, and stage presence. All in a gentle, friendly, and enjoyable format that employs games and supportive guidance. This workshop is for children ages 10 and up. Parents, grandparents, teachers, artists, art therapists, actors, and anyone who finds playing, acting, performing with puppets will find this enjoyable and creative. $25/$20 for members.
