The fourth annual BURNS NIGHT at the 1717 Meetinghouse honors the birth of the Scottish Bard, Robert Burns, with words, music, and food!
Traditional Burns Night commemorations generally feature lengthy speeches, poetry recitals, music, and Scottish foods, including haggis. For the fourth year running, the 1717 Meetinghouse offers a looser interpretation of the night while keeping the fun. You do not have to be Scottish to enjoy the banter, short bursts of poetry, varieties of music, and foods. Including haggis. This year, in addition to Greg Williams (words), Sarah Ford Marchio (pipes), Don Rockwood (Mander organ), Joy Indomenico (Celtic harp), Margaret O'Brien (Hebridean authenticity), Marla Menzies (a few more words), we have Jacqueline Schwab (piano [Ken Burns [!] film fame), and Rev. Edmund Robinson (yet more words, maybe sung). Dinna ye miss it.
Suggested donation AT THE DOOR (NO ADVANCE TICKETS): $15; $10 for members of 1717 Meetinghouse Foundation, students, and those under 18.
