It Started as a Joke

Cotuit Center for the Arts presents the annual screening of “The Best of the Woods Hole Film Festival” on Wednesday and Thursday, December 4 and 5, and Monday and Tuesday, December 9 and 10 at 7 PM in the main performance space. All films were included in the program of the 2019 Woods Hole Film Festival. Best of Fest films are selected by the Festival audience.

“It Started as a Joke,” by Julie Smith Klem and Ken Druckerman, won the Best Feature Documentary, Audience Award. It will be shown on December 4. The film chronicles the decade-long run of the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival and celebrates Mirman’s unique brand of humor and the healing properties of comedy, even in the most challenging of life’s circumstances. There are interviews with, and performances by, many well-known comedians.
