The Jim Robitaille Trio at FCTV

Presented by Falmouth Community Television at Falmouth Community Media Center

Critically-acclaimed jazz group The Jim Robitaille Trio will be performing for a live studio audience at Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) on Thursday, December 5th, 2019. The performance will be the first in a series of monthly musical performances at FCTV, a new program on Public Channel 13 called The Falmouth Music Workshop at Studio 310, hosted by Falmouth’s Pat Ryan.

The Jim Robitaille Trio is guitarist Jim Robitaille, drummer/percussionist Chris Poudrier, and bassist Bill Miele. Award-winning musician and composer Jim Robitaille has performed and or recorded and shared the bill with Bob Moses, Esperanza Spalding, Oscar Stagnaro, Kate McGarry, the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars, and many others, and has appeared on over 20 recordings as a leader and sideman. Highly regarded as an outstanding musical and organic performer, Chris Poudrier has worked with Dave Liebman, Tony Monaco, Karl Berger, Clyde Criner, Santi Debriano, Billy Preston, among many others. Bassist Bill Miele has performed and recorded with many well-known artists throughout the U.S. and Europe, including The John Almark Orchestra, The East Side Horns, Greg Abate, Bill Harley, and Mark White.

"Robitaille's guitar drifts between a tight groove mode and a freer flexible flow as well as anybody out there," said the All About Jazz website about the guitarist’s style.

"Thelonious Monk International Jazz Composers Competition winner, Jim Robitaille, led the Monk Institute student band in an impressive performance of his award-winning composition," said Jazz Times Magazine about a recent performance.

The Falmouth Music Workshop at Studio 310 provides an opportunity to see acclaimed musical acts in an intimate setting at the new television studio at the Falmouth Community Media Center. The artists will perform and talk about their craft with the audience and the host, local guitarist and educator Pat Ryan. The program will also be videotaped for viewing at a later date on FCTV Public Channel 13 and the Internet.
