Making Sense of Shakespeare

Making Sense of Shakespeare

Presented by Cotuit Center for the Arts at Cotuit Center for the Arts

This inventive workshop will exemplify and introduce the helpful tools of investigation used by theatre professionals and Shakespeare scholars alike to understand just where the world's most famous playwright was coming from. By engaging our curious minds with on-our-feet learning exercises, scene study, and performance, we will readily uncover his motives, meanings, and puns, as well as the way his work was originally produced during the 16th–17th centuries. It will be a delightful introduction or an enlivening continued education on the language gymnastics of William Shakespeare in a supportive environment. All levels of theatre enthusiast are welcome and encouraged to attend.

For ages 12–17!
