This two-day drawing and painting workshop, taught by painter/teacher Laura Shabott, will explore the fundamentals of figurative expressionism.

Each day begins by figure drawing with charcoal on paper and moving to oil painting on canvas. You will learn art history - Cubism, Hofmann's push/pull, Abstract Expressionism and Figurative Expression - through practical application and a collective discourse. This way of working will allow you to discover your own visual language: the marks, colors and forms that make your art unique.  There will be affirming critiques in a safe and encouraging environment.
