Wrinkles The Musical is a play about women and aging that was conceived and written by Wilderness Sarchild and Naomi Turner.

Aja, a retired drama teacher with some directorial credits, and her wife, Sal, a musician, have moved to an over 55 community to be close to Aja’s Aunt Beulah, who has become hearing impaired.  At Beulah's request, they have taken over the reins of the annual talent show, raising the stakes from traditional entertainment to a deeper divulging of the character's lives through song, dance, and story. Seven women, whose characters range from 59 to 85, come together to share their journey of aging. They share tears, laughter, their sex lives and their deeply held secrets; they even share a joint.

Their stories are ultimately empowering, with the message that through it all—loss, sickness, even death—they rise above, persevere, live life to its fullest. They are strong, active, caring human beings, not the stereotype of invisible old women.
