American Women Composers

Presented by Pilgrim Monument & Provincetown Museum at Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Musuem

On Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 7:00pm in the East Gallery at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum, the Chamber Music for the Outer Cape presents American Women Composers, a program designed to share the extraordinary influence of women in music since the late nineteenth century. The program features the music of Amy Beach, generally acknowledged as the first American woman recognized widely by music scholars, and Florence B. Price, the first African American woman to have music performed by a major American symphony. These historical works are juxtaposed with a performance by the singer, songwriter, and composer Pamela Means, an award-winning American musician performing her own music.
