“Near and Far” featuring works by Ken Carson and Marian Colman will be on view at Woodruff’s Art Center in Mashpee Commons. There is an Opening Reception 5-7pm and Artists Talk at 5:15pm on Wednesday, October 2nd.
Near and Far takes the viewer around the world and back. Ken Carson is both an oil painter and photographer. His oil paintings express “near", scenes from his home base on Cape Cod. His photography takes the viewer “far”. As an avid hiker, he and his wife have experienced much of the world on foot.
Marian Colman has spent years immersing herself in the essence of the New England coastal landscape. Her watercolors reflect the light and beauty of land, sky and water joining forces.
The two exhibiting artists had not previously met, but they share a common thread; both retired from 25 year careers as Art Educators.
