Your Voice as a Painter

Your Voice as a Painter

Presented by Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) at Provincetown Art Association and Museum

But the process of becoming a painter is largely focused on discovering the way YOU paint, identifying your idiom, and learning to value and utilize the unique way you apply pigment to canvas. This workshop will be concerned with looking at the unique 'voice' of painters in the PAAM collection (and others) and considering the strengths and opportunities in our individual approach to painting. Participants should come with an idea of subject matter they wish to explore -- it could be landscape, portraiture, still life, abstraction, etc. -- and the appropriate reference material (photos, objects, mirrors, etc.). The workshop is geared toward oil or acrylic painting, but other media are welcome. New painters and experienced painters are encouraged to join the workshop, and instruction will be on both a group and individual basis.
