Sandstock: Woodstock Revisited in Sandwich

Sandstock: Woodstock Revisited in Sandwich

Presented by Sandwich Arts Alliance at H. T. Wing School Bandstand

Fifty years after the original Woodstock of 1969, the Sandwich Arts Alliance is paying homage to the iconic music festival with Sandwich’s own “Sandstock”, a fun-filled anniversary celebration for all ages, featuring local Arts Alliance musicians.

On Saturday, August 17th from 12 noon to 4 pm, the public is invited to relax on the lawn and enjoy the outdoor concert taking place on the bandstand behind the Wing School at 33 Water Street in Sandwich.

The four hours of free music will exclusively highlight the same playlist of songs from Woodstock 1969. Attendees are encouraged but not required to dress in period costumes, wear love beads, bring peace and flower power signs, and enjoy a picnic on the grass with family and friends.

Sandwich Arts Alliance musicians on the growing list of performers so far include John Williams, Rumble Wagon, Kathleen Healy, Jimmy Ellis, Nils Soderberg, Bill Hendy, Christina Nordstrom, Christie Lowrance, Bobby Gage, Leslie Gage and Vic Hucklebuck. Mark Snyder will be Master of Ceremonies.

Sandstock takes place rain or shine. For more details visit www.sandwichartalliance.org or the SAA Center at 124 Route 6A, Sandwich.

The Sandwich Arts Alliance thanks event sponsors Coca Cola of Sandwich, Graziella’s Artisan Pizza and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
