Cephalopods with Chef Joe Cizynski

Cephalopods with Chef Joe Cizynski

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

A highly intelligent group of ocean dwelling creatures, the living cephalopods include the eight-armed octopi, the ten-armed squids and cuttlefishes, and the shelled chambered nautiluses. Early in their evolution, cephalopods relied on the sturdy protection of shells, but over time many eventually lost the outer shell and instead relied on new adaptations like heightened intelligence, a talent for hiding, and strong, flexible arms. We will dine on braised squid stuffed with veal, pine-nuts and raisins, grilled octopus salad with peaches and arugula, braised sepia with rosemary, orange and polenta and finish with cheeses. We will taste rose, muscadet and chianti. We will finish with fresh cheeses.
