A day of creative games, activities, storytelling, puppetry and free admission for all to the House, barn and grounds—and free snacks for everyone. An unforgettable day of creative silly learning.
Saturday, August 3rd is our Eleventh Annual Fantastagorey Day Childrens Festival—an All-Free-for-all afternoon of kids fun inside and outside the Edward Gorey House—rain or shine. Fantastagorey Day celebrates reading, play, puppetry, storytelling, improvisation, make-believe, the somewhat scary, and the quite silly. There’s also an abundance of free treats like juices, waters, popcorn and ice cream—and, of course, free admission to the House all day for kids of all ages, even adult kids.
Gashleycrumb Tinies Scavenger Hunts, ongoing readings of Gorey’s and other authors’ books, mask-making, puppet-making (as well as puppet shows where the creations get put to work), fortune-telling and a strange little tea party are all brewing at the House for that Saturday. Rain or shine, Fantastagorey encompassing both the inside and grounds of the museum, as well as the Gorey Barn. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience for kids to celebrate creativity with crafts, games, performances and fun. Wherever creative seeds are planted things seem to grow—that seems to happen every year at Fantastagorey Day. For the most unique and Goreyishly charming family experience on the Cape, bring the brood down to enjoy a summer afternoon at Edward’s House. A 100% ennui-free day!
