Learn About Composting

Learn About Composting

Presented by Cotuit Library at Cotuit Library

Join us at the Library this weekend as we welcome Kari Parcell of Barnstable County/Mass DEP to come talk about composting here on Cape Cod. You’ll learn about home/backyard composting, how to do it right, and what other options are available for you and for the Cape. This is a great program to learn about waste reduction and how to lead a greener life.

Kari Parcell, MPA, received her undergraduate degree in political science at the University of Oregon and her master’s in public administration at southern new hampshire. She has been living on cape cod for 4- years now, with the most recent being in chatham for the past 5-months. Kari grew up in Oregon and waste reduction was just a part of life; her family reused, recycled, and composted everything. At present she works with 23 municipalities on Cape and Islands on waste reduction programs. She helps them seek funds through the department of environmental protection and other funding sources to create, implement, and expand

recycling and composting programs.

This program is free but please register at cotuitlibrary.org/events--activities or contact the Library.
