Join Cape Cod Museum of Art for a time-traveling-trip-to-the-twenties with a casual, yet elegant, evening of fine food, fun, philanthropy and the opportunity to bid on some of the Cape’s finest artwork at the museum’s Annual Gala & Art Auction benefit from 5-10 pm on Saturday, Aug. 17. This year’s theme is the Roaring Twenties!
The Gala begins with the Silent Auction, featuring signature cocktails, sumptuous hors d’oeuvres, a 50/50 raffle and wine pull from 5-7 pm. Later in the evening, guests will sit down for a delicious dinner and Live Auction led by premier auctioneer John Terrio. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on several high-end items, including works from Robert Douglas Hunter, Steve Kennedy, Jim Holland and Paul Schulenburg. “Experiential items,” such as an African Safari and a Night at the Museum, will also be among the live auction packages offered. Approximately 25 items are in the Live and 100 in the Silent auctions.
Potential bidders will have a chance to see and start their bidding early. All items will be on display in the museum’s galleries a week prior to the Gala. For those not able to attend the Gala event, absentee bids can also be made. On August 15th, the museum will host a special auction preview evening event, where the local artists and artisans will be on hand to share their personal anecdotes about their creations with potential buyers over wine, cheese and music. In addition to artwork, the silent auction will include gift cards and items from local stores and restaurants. Experiential packages like art classes and VIP tours round out the offerings.
For those who prefer to do their bidding online or are not local, online bids will be accepted. Online bidding begins on July 19 at www.ccmoa.org/auction
Tickets to the Gala are $75 for the Silent Auction and $150 for the Silent and Live Auction with dinner. Guests are encouraged to dress in Roaring 20’s theme and the “best dressed” guest will be acknowledged with a bottle of champagne. Visit www.ccmoa.org/auction to purchase tickets.
