Nature Screen presents "First Man on the Moon!"

Presented by Cape Cod Museum of Natural History at Cape Cod Museum of Natural History

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster continues its Nature Screen film series celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first man to walk on the moon with PBS’ original NOVA documentary; First Man on the Moon, Monday, July 15,  2019  at 11:30am.

Astronaut Neil Armstrong, a modest and unassuming man determined to stay out of the spotlight, was the first man to set foot on the moon July 20, 1969. The story surrounding his rare combination of talent, luck, experience and bravery that led to his successful command of Apollo 11 is not widely known.

For the first time, NOVA presents an intimate portrait through interviews with Armstrong’s family and friends, many of whom have never spoken publicly before. The film examines the man behind the myth, and also reveals his unsung achievements as a Navy combat veteran and pioneer of high speed flight.

First Man on the Moon is an inspiring story of heroic risk-taking and humble dedication to advancing humanity’s adventure in space.
