Author Talk with Deane Turner

Presented by Mashpee Public Library at Mashpee Public Library

Join us on Tuesday, July 2 for an Author Talk with Mashpee local Deane Turner - Author of Adrift in Memories: Lessons Learned Leading a Nomadic Life.

A New England native Deane Turner, has never been able to sit still.  He moved twenty-nine times before settling in Mashpee in 2000.   Adrift in Memories, a summation of his restless life, tells the stories of his adventures crewing aboard schooners off Camden, Maine and Marblehead, Massachusetts, harvesting hay in the fields of Walla Walla, Washington, working in a cannery in Oakland, California, and hitchhiking home to Boston from Seattle.   He also traveled extensively in his professional career.  As a international management consultant for Union Carbide he worked in Asia, India, South America, Mexico, and Canada.  After retirement, he still couldn't stay in one place. He reinvented himself as a boat captain, a group leader for Grand Circle Travel, a writer, a career consultant, and a teacher.

Mr. Turner hopes to share the valuable lessons he has learned from his travels and adventures, victories and challenges, wins and losses.

The event is free and copies of his book will be available for signing and purchase.
