AN AMERICAN STORY:  RACE AMITY, THE OTHER TRADITION!  A DOCUMENTARY FILM & CONVERSATION.  MAY 31ST, 4-6 PM,  DENNIS MEMORIAL LIBRARY, 1020 Old Bass River Rd., Dennis, MA 02638.

All are welcome to view the documentary film: AN AMERICAN STORY: RACE AMITY, THE OTHER TRADITION, on Friday, May 31st, 2019 at 4 pm, at the Dennis Memorial Library, 1020 Old Bass River Rd., Dennis, MA. This film has been aired on PBS television on the World Channel and at local venues around the United States. The film is approximately 50 minutes in length, and will be followed by a discussion. The program will end by 6 pm. Refreshments will be available.

"The primary purpose of the documentary project, An American Story: Race Amity and The Other Tradition, is to impact the public discourse on race. To move the discourse from the “blame/grievance/rejection” cycle to a view from a different lens, the lens of “amity/collaboration/access and equity.”

Anyone is invited who is interested in discussing how racial or other differences can be a force of unity.  It is hoped that monthly meetings will evolve from this first Dennis Memorial Library gathering, to talk about progress in that realm, and to look at materials that foster unity. The program is co-sponsored by the Baha'i Group of Dennis. For questions regarding this program, call 774-487-2792 or email: judithpartelow@gmail.com.
