Some mosaic and glass cutting experience recommended but not required.

Type of Class: Demonstration, lecture, and hands-on projects

 Students will each create their own Mosaic Floral Mural of dimensions 16” x 24”.  Substrate may either be tile backerboard (for backsplash application) or ½” sealed plywood (for wall art application).

Instructors will demonstrate their home-grown custom design techniques for all aspects of the project – including substrate materials, adhesives (indoor and outdoor applications), patterning, as well as special techniques for cutting and arranging flowers, vines, leaves, tiny mosaic background tiles, grouting and sealing, etc.  Instructors will also show you their techniques for creating mosaic and Fused flowers and transferring them to the substrate.

For this project students will create on the first day “fused” glass flowers that will be kiln fired overnight and incorporated into their panel to give it another dimension.
