In a special collaboration with the Falmouth Chamber Players Orchestra, the Cape Conservatory presents A Musical Menagerie, a fun and engaging concert for all ages.
Children and their families will love the animal-themed performances including the beloved symphonic fairy tale, “Peter and the Wolf.” This classic tale of bravery will be masterfully narrated by our special guest, David Kuehn of Cotuit Center for the Arts. Sergei Prokofiev’s score will bring each animal character to life for children of all ages, introducing them to the instruments of the orchestra, while the work is equally sophisticated for adults to enjoy. With the heartwarming piece, “The Birds,” composer Ottorino Respighi translated birdsong into musical notation and conveyed bird actions, such as fluttering wings, perfectly capturing the sweetness of nature. In addition to the menagerie, concert pianist and Conservatory executive director, Stephanie Weaver, will dazzle the audience with a performance of Mozart’s Variations on Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star (“Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman”).
This joyous family-friendly event will offer an exciting opportunity for children to experience the magic of live orchestral music. With a goal of making the arts accessible to all, tickets are just $10/adults and $5/children.
