Looking to spark some creative energy this summer? This class will meet once weekly over the course of five weeks. The first four classes will focus on the craft of poem-making, the role of poetry in contemporary literature, and explore a variety of forms, while allowing participants to generate and workshop their own poems. The final class will focus on experimental forms and how to submit work to literary journals. Readings of both poems and essays will challenge common presumptions about poetry, while illustrating a variety of methods for taking risks in our own work.
