A play by Jack Gelber performed as a staged reading .
"The Connection," a play by Jack Gelber was first performed off-Broadway in 1959. It is a play within a play, in which several heroin addicts are waiting for Cowboy, their connection. Amidst the swirl of current news about opioid addiction this play is eerily current, and no town, large or small, has escaped the gravity of its pull.
The play reading will be followed by a discussion and Q & A about the current epidemic. We will be reaching out to the Recovery Community for their participation in this project.
Supported by a grant from the Wellfleet Cultural Council.
