PMC: Precious Metal Clay in Fine Silver with Leslie Spencer

PMC: Precious Metal Clay in Fine Silver with Leslie Spencer

Presented by Falmouth Art Center at Falmouth Art Center

You will create a pendant to wear home from this exciting class using PMC3.  This class is appropriate for beginners to advanced students.

PMC (precious metal clay) was developed in Japan in 1990s. It is a crafting medium consisting of very small particles of metal such as fine silver with an organic binder and water for use in making jewelry. It can be shaped just like any soft clay, by hand and using anything with texture. After drying, the clay can be fired in a variety of ways. In this class, we will use a small butane torch.  The instructor will demonstrate torch-firing outside, and then take students’ work home to fire. She will bring the finished projects back to the center during the week, at which time students will be contacted to pick up their project.
