On May 17 Quartett Giocosa will present a concert entitled Music and the Scientific Mind. The program will feature quartets written by composers greatly influenced by scientific thought. William Herschel’s Symphony in C minor, Philip Glass’ String Quartet #2, Josef Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 64 #5 (Lark) and Alexander Borodin’s String Quartet #2 will be presented along with commentary on the relationship between science and the arts, and how we find that great minds in one field are often drawn to the other.
