"A Slice of Life: The Professional Photographers of Cape Cod Showcase Their Art of Photography"

Photography by members of the Professional Photographers of Cape Cod will be on display at the Maser Gallery from March 31 through May 2, 2019. The public is invited to an opening reception on Sunday, March 31, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.

The Professional Photographers of Cape Cod originally started as a small group of wedding and portrait professional photographers, located throughout the Cape, that got together during the year to share new ideas and techniques that would elevate its members to producing technically better and more artistically pleasing photographic images. These seven members will be showing:

Amy Rader has been a family portrait photographer in Falmouth for over three decades. Amy studied fine art photography and photo history at The Kansas City Art Institute and the University of New Mexico. She is a Master Photographer, Craftsman and National Award recipient from the Professional Photographers of America and the Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts.

Cynthia Hovda acquired her first DSLR camera in 2010. One year later her artwork was on display alongside other professional photographer’s work at Dulles International Airport during the Gateway Photo Exhibit titled: “DC: More Than Monuments.”

Since then her work has been on display in various exhibitions throughout the U.S. and her fine art photography has won awards in the prestigious International Photographic Competition held annually by the Professional Photographers of America.

Michael Petrizzo is an award-winning fine art photographer, portrait artist, and fine art print artist. He has been recognized by the Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts for photographic excellence in their annual print competition on several occasions. He has been recognized locally and nationally for his stunning works of art. Mr. Petrizzo’s works hang in homes and offices from coast to coast, in Europe and in New Zealand. His fine art prints can be found in art galleries on Cape Cod.

Jean Kirby is a photographer and artist. Jean grew up in Maryland and now lives on Cape Cod. She loves to travel and also loves history. Jean’s entire career has always been on the creative side, leading her to run a photography studio in Falmouth.

Wayne Kunkel is a graduate of Syracuse University and the Paul’s School of Photography in Los Angeles, California. Wayne has won multiple awards at the New York State Fair photography competition, Life in the Fingerlakes Magazine, and the National photo competition. Wayne is a member of the Professional Photographers of America.

Lee Geishecker has studied at the New England School of Photography and her professional affiliation includes membership to the Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts, President of Professional Photographers of Cape Cod, and chair of ArtsFalmouth. Lee’s Falmouth studio, VIEW Photography, serves as an outlet for her art which ranges from landscapes and scenery to portraits, weddings, and events – with a specialty in newborn and family portraits.

Lydia Leclair's photography adventure started with film in middle school and continued with studying photography in undergrad and graduate school. Lydia owns and operates a boutique studio and gallery in the center of Harwich Port.

Maser Gallery Exhibit Hours: Sunday 12-8 pm; Monday, 2-10 pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10 am -10 pm; Friday, 10 am-6 pm.
