Award-winning poet, summer programs teacher, former Fellow and Writing Committee member Major Jackson returns to the Fine Arts Work Center.
Major Jackson is the author of four collections of poetry: Roll Deep (Norton, 2015), Holding Company (Norton, 2010); Hoops (2006, Norton, 2006); and Leaving Saturn (University of Georgia Press, 2002). Recently, he served as a creative arts fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and as the Sidney Harman Writer-in-Residence at Baruch College. He has taught at Columbia University, Xavier University of Louisiana, New York University, and University of Massachusetts - Lowell as the Jack Kerouac Writer-in-Residence. He lives in Burlington, Vermont, where he is the Richard Dennis Green and Gold Professor at University of Vermont. He is a former Fine Arts Work Center Writing Fellow (2000-2001), and currently a member of the Writing Committe. Major currently serves as the Poetry Editor of the Harvard Review.
