SAORI Weaving is a contemporary improvisational weaving from Japan. It is an expressive art that everyone can do. No experience necessary–There are no mistakes!
This workshop is for everyone, age 7 to adult– small children should be accompanied by an adult attendant.

SAORI Weaving is a contemporary improvisational weaving from Japan. It is an expressive art that everyone can do. No experience necessary–There are no mistakes!
Using a two pedals floor loom with pre-set warp, you will learn how to weave weft with a shuttle to make a scarf length of fabric. You may weave yarn, fabric strips, fleece, ribbons, feathers and more. Just like painting, you can play with fiber and other find objects to make one-of-a- kind of art that only you create at the moment. You will create a wearable, a decorative art or material for sewing.
