“It’ll be good old fashioned fun and you’ll have a hard time staying in your
seat,” says Digney. If guests are moved to do some stompin’ to this music played with
traditional and distinctive instruments, including a washboard, there will be room to do
so.

This special concert will spotlight two of Digney’s critically acclaimed concept CD’s that tell of the story of Johnnie Boudreaux, "a man too good lookin' for his own good." Johnnie is a character in both Trouble on the Levee (2006) and Talk of the Town(2008). Each CD scored high on NPR, Americana, Roots Rock, and College Charts.Digney’s song “Boudreaux” was runner-up for Best Americana Song by the Just Plain Folks Awards. Johnnie’s story is currently being developed as a Cajun opera.

The band includes songwriter Digney Fignus as lead vocal, on guitar and harmonica; Chris Leadbetter providing vocals, electric and slide guitar and mandolin; Tim Fiehler with vocals and bass; Dave Dillon on drums, and special guest Gary Urgonski on washboard and spoons.

Digney’s latest CD, Last Planet on the Left (April 2011) spent a month in the TOP 40 on the national Americana Chart and reached #6 on the International Roots/Rock Chart.

After the performance, guests can mingle with the musicians over coffee, tea and cookies. Before or after the concert, attendees can enjoy a delicious prix fixe meal at the popular Encore Bistro & Bar, just steps from the Museum.
