FREE YOUNG WRITERS WORKSHOP offered by the Cape Cod Writers Center, February 19-23, School Vacation Week at the Sturgis Public Library.
Students grades 7-12 are invited to participate in the Cape Cod Writers Center’s acclaimed Young Writers Workshop during the February School vacation on February 19-23 at the Sturgis Public Library from 10 AM to noon.
This acclaimed three-decade old program offers talented young writers the opportunity to study with published author-teachers, learn how to improve their writing and find out about publishing options in magazines and periodicals. This year’s instructors are author-teachers K. R. Conway and Jeffery Carter.
Another benefit of this tuition-free program is the opportunity students have to meet other writers from local schools. Like adult writers, aspiring teen writers often work in solitude, so networking with others like themselves becomes especially important. During morning classes, students get to meet others from different schools and often develop friendships afterwards.
The Young Writers Workshop runs from Tuesday, February 19-Saturday, February 23rd from 10 AM to noon. Parents are invited to attend readings from the work their teenagers produced during the earlier part of the week.
