Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Adults only. BYORefreshments (coolers welcome). Dance floor. Cafe style.

Come have some fun with Bittersweet, a band that specializes in funk, soul & classic R&B. Philadelphia-born drummer Greg PoPPa’G Baker was the original drummer and Bittersweet was the backup live touring band for the famed Village People during the height of their popularity. He has also drummed for international recording artists Major Harris, Blue Magic, and Brandy Wells and has shared the stage with Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge, Bobby Womack, Third World, D-Train, Freda Payne, Junior Walker’s All Star’s, Chubby Checker & Peabo Bryson.

Other highlights include touring the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada and Japan, appearing on The Midnight Special, Don Kirsner’s Rock Concert, The Academy Of Music, Philadelphia; Madison Square Garden, New York; The Salt Palace, Las Vegas; the Boston Garden and many more.

The band has seen many changes since 1979, but for the last 15 years the partnership and outstanding lead vocals of Danville Virginia native Tracy Howerton have kept the funk, soul and classic R&B of Bittersweet alive and kicking. The pocket is in the socket with: Guitarist, Jim Snider; Bassist, Chris Sweeting; Saxophonist, Aaron Dupont. With featured guest artist Ken Field on Sax and the incredible percussion sounds of Luis Shepard! The Band will absolutely guarantee to transform any event into an unforgettable all out Dancing Good Time!
