Open Studio in Mobile Digital Art:  iPhone and iPad

Description:

Join Rita Colantonio and Barbara Braman for an Open Studio.  Artists at all experience levels, from beginners to the more advanced, will benefit from this ongoing class. The format of an open studio allows participants to bring in and work on their own projects, while benefiting from the different skill sets of the two instructors.  Demos by the instructors on workflow, different uses of apps, basic art principles and other topics will ensure that each student can continue to develop in this new art form.

Mobile Digital Art is a new media which developed directly from the introduction of the iPhone with its touch screen and the Apple APP store.  Artists as well-known as David Hockney have used this media to create paintings, collages, and images based on photographs developed in unlimited ways, fueled only by the artists imagination.  Artists with backgrounds in photography as well as painters, printmakers and other “traditional media” artists would enjoy the convenience of a media that is so easily transportable and so open ended.

Barbara and Rita have each been recognized nationally for their work in this media and have taught workshops here at the art center in specific techniques.
