John Alden is a fun and lively caller, who specializes in making beginners and families feel welcome to the exciting world of contra dance.

Jacqueline Schwab, renowned pianist, was chosen by Ken Burns for numerous public television documentaries due to the emotional expression in her playing. You might have heard her rendition of “Ashokan Farewell” in the Civil War documentary. She has also recorded and played dances with the band Bare Necessities for many years.

Chatham’s own Rose Clancy is a much respected, high energy musician playing fiddle, mandolin and banjo at concerts and festivals throughout the Northeast while sharing the stage with some of the greatest traditional performers.

.Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed – if you can walk, you can dance!  All the dances are taught and called. If you’re new to contra dance, be sure to get in on the early dances for the basic moves.  And don’t miss out on our welcoming and delicious potluck at 6.

Outermost Contra is one of many contradances on the Cape, and was organized in December of 2014.  The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels.

Community potluck at 6:00

Dance begins at 7:00
