Ana Glig & Friends: A Charity Concert to Support American Friends of Georgia

Presented by American Friends of Georgia at Sandwich Town Hall

Join us for an evening of classic music benefiting the Cape Cod-based humanitarian organization American Friends of Georgia (AFG). Pianist Ana Glig, accompanied by Monika Woods (clarinet), Jared Mcmurray (piano) and James Rosenblum (piano), will perform music by Chopin, Liszt, Dvorak, Saint Saens, Glig and others at the historic Sandwich Town Hall Auditorium.

Founded in 1994, AFG is dedicated to improving the lives and futures of the Republic of Georgia's most vulnerable citizens, with a special focus on the homeless, orphans, former street children, ill elderly and individuals with disabilities. AFG provides funding and operational support to a wide range of projects, including residential communities, educational programs, vocational training, art therapy and hospice care. AFG also works to educate and empower Georgian youth to make a difference in their country through social activism, philanthropy and preservation of their cultural heritage. Learn more about our work and how you can help at afgeorgia.org.

Ana Glig (aka Ana Gligvashvili) is an award-winning Georgian-American pianist, praised by Musical America for her ability to “capture hearts.” Glig has performed as an orchestra soloist with Rishon LeZion and Evgeni Mikeladze Symphonic Orchestras in Israel and Georgia. She was also the recipient of an Alfred Cortot Prize for Best Interpretation of Romantic Music at the Tbilisi International Piano Competition. Her playing has been noticed for sensitivity, depth of interpretation and ability to connect music through various thematic concepts and art media. Glig performs frequently throughout Cape Cod.
