Falmouth Chorale presents “A Brass Ring,” an exciting program pairing choral voices with the brilliance of brass instruments. Features Redline Brass Quintet in works by Rutter, Schubert, and Gabrieli.
The Falmouth Chorale, led by Artistic Director John Yankee, presents “A Brass Ring.” The Chorale and its Chamber Singers will be joined by Redline Brass Quintet for a unique and exciting concert that combines choral voices with brass instruments for works by John Rutter, Franz Schubert, John Yankee and Giovanni Gabrieli. This inventive program includes Rutter’s thrilling Gloria; Schubert’s iconoclastic “people’s mass,” the Deutsche Messe; a three-hymn shape-note set by Yankee; and Chiar’ Angioletta, an antiphonal octet by Gabrieli—with a twist.
The concert will open with an instrumental selection performed by the brass quintet, recognized at Longy School of Music for “excellence in teaching artistry.” Redline has been featured in numerous concert series and premiered several new works for brass quintet.
Tickets for adults are $25 in advance, $30 at the door; $5 for students.
