In conjunction with Jim Bowen’s mosaic exhibit at the Falmouth Art Center, Jim and Debbie Bowen will be holding a reading of their popular children’s book My Mosaic Alphabet Book along with a mini-mosaic workshop for kids on Saturday, October 28.

Both Jim and Debbie Bowen will sign copies of My Mosaic Alphabet Book at the workshop. Books will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Falmouth Art Center.

My Mosaic Alphabet Book features the art and rhymes of Jim and Debbie Bowen, the founding directors of Cape Cod Mosaic Workshops. Four years in the making, Mr. Bowen created a unique masterpiece to introduce not only the alphabet to youngsters but to show off this ancient art form to adults as well.

Mr. Bowen made the mosaic illustrations by hand cutting pieces of colored stained glass which he glued onto 14”x 14” mosaic panels, one for each letter of the alphabet. The twenty-six panels took over 1,000 hours to complete.
