For the month of November 2018, the Brewster Ladies’ Library is pleased to present an art show by John Howard.
Howard is a self-taught artist inspired by places in New England—Cape Cod, the hills of Vermont, the mountains of New Hampshire, and the coastline of Maine—as well as his visits to Mexico. His pieces are not landscapes, but a personal response to places in the natural world. He is interested in elemental things: trees, rocks, water, and wind. His art concerns itself with finding and exploring an abiding relationship to this world.
Howard has been exhibiting on the Cape since 1982. His work has been seen in open and juried shows at the Provincetown Art Museum since 1985, and he has been an exhibiting member of Castle Hill since 2015. His artwork is currently represented by Cross Rip Gallery in Harwich Port.
The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception at the Library on Saturday, November 3 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
