Praised by Musical America for her ability to "capture hearts," award-winning Georgian-American pianist Ana Glig has performed widely throughout the United States and Europe and her native Georgia. Her performance will showcase her new CD 'Reminiscences,' which Ana based on the concept of 'homesickness,' inspired by solo piano works from Grieg to Liszt, Kancheli and Snyder. These dreamy, intimate pieces depict the artists' quest to embrace growth and a new path, while carrying the bittersweet memories of youth and separation from her motherland. As a soloist, Ms. Glig debuted with Rishon LeZion and Evgeni Mikeladze Symphonic Orchestras in Israel and Georgia. She received awards from the Tel-Hai International Piano Concerto Competition and The Tbilisi International Piano Competition, where she was awarded the Alfred Cortot Prize for the best interpretation of romantic music. Come hear her in the Center's acoustically stellar Great Hall. Complimentary refreshments.
