Passport to America: An Immigrant Story

Passport to America: An Immigrant Story

Presented by Cape Symphony and Cotuit Center for the Arts at Barnstable Performing Arts Center (BPAC)

Join us as we open our season with a journey to our own country, featuring Ellis Island: The Dream of America, a powerful celebration of the historic immigrant experience by GRAMMY-nominated composer Peter Boyer.

This innovative work, presented in collaboration with the Cotuit Center for the Arts, brings together soaring music, historical images and text from the Ellis Island archives, and the voices of real people who entered the United States in pursuit of the American dream. Among those who came here in the 20thcentury were many important composers – we present works by some of these talented immigrants, including the brilliant Igor Stravinsky.
