Ana Glig - Piano Recital

Ana Glig - Piano Recital "Reminiscences"

Presented by Cape Cod Museum of Art at Cape Cod Museum of Art

Praised by Musical America for her ability to "capture hearts," award-winning Georgian-American pianist Ana Glig, who has performed widely throughout the United States and Europe and her native Georgia, will showcase her new CD ‘Reminiscences’  and a world premiere of a newly commissioned piano piece.

Along with rarely performed piano pieces, Ms. Glig will perform a world premiere of the solo piano piece ‘From Far Away’ by American composer Francis Snyder.

Ana Glig's album Reminiscences is based on her concept ‘homesickness’ and is inspired by solo piano works from Grieg to Liszt, to living composers Kancheli and Snyder. These dreamy, intimate pieces depict the artists' quest to embrace growth and a new path, while carrying the bittersweet memories of youth and separation from motherland.

Born in Telavi, Georgia, the pianist revealed her early interest in music at the age of two. Since then she has developed a particular appreciation and love for folk and classical music traditions

As a soloist, Ms. Glig debuted with Rishon LeZion and Evgeni Mikeladze Symphonic Orchestras in Israel and Georgia. She received awards from the Tel-Hai International Piano Concerto Competition and The Tbilisi International Piano Competition, where she was awarded the Alfred Cortot Prize for the best interpretation of romantic music.
