The Mid-Cape Cultural Council, in cooperation with the Town of Barnstable, is working on a project to create the HyArts Discovery Walk, a series of interactive outdoor sculptures near the Hyannis waterfront, and is announcing a call for artists.
The HyArts Discovery Walk is intended to reflect the natural beauty of Hyannis Harbor and improve visitors’ and residents’ enjoyment of the Harbor and downtown area. Two sculptures are in progress, and we are seeking a third to round out the Walk.
If selected, artists may be asked to participate in making presentations, and the Town may use the designs to promote the project. The MCCC has raised funds to cover artist fees, fabrication and installation of the artwork (approx. $2500-$5000 per installation). Artworks must be completely installed by fall 2019 for year-round, permanent exhibit. The submission deadline is September 30, 2018 and the selected sculpture will be announced by October 31, 2018.
