Paintings and drawings by Joyce Ewing will be on display at the Maser Gallery from August 5 through August 30, 2018. The public is invited to a reception on Sunday, August 12, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
From early childhood, Joyce Ewing has been following an artistic path. Along the way, she earned a Batchelor of Fine Arts in Oil Painting from Swain School of Design in New Bedford, MA and furthered her studies with such notable artists as Stephen Quiller, Ted Minchin, and Jane A. Lee Heyerdahl, among others.
A long-time resident of Hatchville, MA, Joyce enjoys the endless inspirations of Cape Cod seasons. Moved by a wide variety of subject matter, she developed her own techniques to better represent her vision. Watercolor, colored pencil, pen and ink and mixed media are her current methods.
One can find Joyce’s work in publications including “American Art Collector” and in private collections across the country, in Ireland, and in Antigua. She has won numerous awards and participated in juried and invitational shows all around Cape Cod including the Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit, Cataumet Arts Center in Cataumet, Falmouth Arts Center in Falmouth, Cape Cod Cultural Center in South Yarmouth and the Old Selectmen’s Building Gallery in West Barnstable.
Joyce is a member of The Colored Pencil Society of America, Falmouth Artists Guild, and Cape Cod Arts Association of Barnstable.
