Join us for a concert from Jonatha Brooke, the second installation in the Fine Arts Work Center’s annual Lyric Series.
When it comes to writing and performing folk music, Jonatha Brooke is a seasoned professional. Utilizing her versatile soprano, sharp lyrical sensibility, and fiercely authentic stage presence, Brooke has been busy moving audiences and winning fans for three decades. An ever-evolving artist, Brooke took a career-altering turn in 2014 when her autobiographical one-woman-show “My Mother Has Four Noses” opened off-Broadway to rave reviews. It’s been described as “haunted and haunting” (New York Times) and “poignant and truthful” (Entertainment Weekly). But Jonatha Brooke doesn’t rest. On her latest release, 2016’s Midnight. Hallelujah, Brooke delivers again, exploring love, loss, and spirituality through her signature sound and keen storytelling sense.
