In addition to 100 open-enrollment workshops in visual arts and creative writing, the Fine Arts Work Center Summer Program offers free, nightly readings and artist talks for the community. Books will be available for purchase and signing, cash and cards are accepted.

Alison Hawthorne Deming's most recent books are Stairway to Heaven (Penguin 2016) and Zoologies: On Animals and the Human Spirit (Milkweed 2014). Her work is widely published, including in Best American Science and Nature Writing and the Norton Book of Nature Writing. She has won a Guggenheim Fellowship, National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, among other honors. She is Regents' Professor and Agnese Nelms Haury Chair of Environment and Social Justice at the University Arizona.

Sarah Schulman is a novelist, nonfiction writer, playwright, screenwriter, journalist, and AIDS historian. In September 2018 she will publish her 19th book, Maggie Terry. She is currently collaborating with the great Marianne Faithfull on a stage play, "The Snow Queen," encompassing 24 of Marianne's classic songs. A participant citizen, Schulman is a fierce believer in the power of collective social movements to make more room for the individual and our iconoclastic realities.

Martha Collins' most recent books of poetry are Night Unto Night (2018) and Admit One: An American Scrapbook (2016). She has also published seven earlier collections, including Day Unto Day, White Papers, and Blue Front, as well as four collections of co-translated Vietnamese poetry. Founder of the Creative Writing Program at UMass-Boston, she served for ten years as Pauline Delaney Professor of Creative Writing at Oberlin College, and is currently editor-at-large for Oberlin's FIELD magazine.
