In addition to 100 open-enrollment workshops in visual arts and creative writing, the Fine Arts Work Center Summer Program offers free, nightly readings and artist talks for the community. Books will be available for purchase and signing, cash and cards are accepted.

Gabrielle Calvocoressi is the author of The Last Time I Saw Amelia Earhart, Apocalyptic Swing (a finalist for the LA Times Book Prize) and Rocket Fantastic. She is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships including a Stegner Fellowship and Jones Lectureship from Stanford University, a Rona Jaffe Woman Writer's Award, a Lannan Foundation residency in Marfa, TX, the Bernard F. Conners Prize from The Paris Review, and a residency from the Civitella di Ranieri Foundation, among others. Her poems have been published in numerous magazines and journals including the New York Times, POETRY, Boston Review, and Kenyon Review. She is an Editor at Large at Los Angeles Review of Books, and co-curates the digital maker's space Voluble. She is working on a memoir entitled The Year I Didn't Kill Myself, and a novel, The Alderman of the Graveyard. She lives in North Carolina and teaches at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Jill Bialosky is the author of the novels The Prize, House Under Snow and The Life Room, and is co-editor, with Helen Schulman, of the anthology Wanting A Child.  She is also the author of the New York Times Bestselling memoir, History of a Suicide: My Sister’s Unfinished Life, as well as four collections of poetry: The Players, Intruder, Subterranean, and The End of Desire. Her latest book is the memoir, Poetry Will Save Your Life. Her poems and essays appear in The New Yorker, O Magazine, Paris Review, The Nation, The New Republic, Kenyon Review, and American Poetry Review, among other publications.
