Growing Up McDougal... Happy, Hopeful, and Hung-Over!

Presented by Cotuit Center for the Arts at Cotuit Center for the Arts

Nancy Witter's new show opened in New York City on Thursday September 21st at Don't Tell Mama to rave reviews! This new show has Nancy regaling her audiences with stories of her unique childhood growing up in a large Irish Cathoholic family. Nancy learned early on, thanks to her happy hopeful and hung-over parents how to find the comedy in catastrophes, and hope in despair.

Growing up in a very large Irish “Cathaholic” family, and struggling as a working single mother for 20 years, gave Nancy Witter all the comedic material she needed to sustain her thoughout her long-standing comedy career. Nancy has won three New York City MAC Awards for “Outstanding Female Comedian” and a MAC Award for her one woman show “Dignity Check... Please”. Nancy was one of five finalists on Nick at Nite’s “Search for the Funniest Mom in America” in 2005. Soon after, she joined two other finalists and for five years they toured in sold out theaters across the country in the hit comedy show “Mama’s Night Out”. "The New York Times" has described Nancy as having “a razor sharp wit” and Backstage Magazine named her to their list of "Comedy Best Bets". Nancy performs at comedy venues throughout New York City and the country.
