Cape Cod native and Sailors’ Valentines award winning artist, Gregg Roberts, is a singer, poet and self-taught artisan.  Gregg's sailors' valentines are done in the rustic style originally attributed to the craft. Working in a restored vintage carriage house on Main Street in Cotuit, he lays out shells of various sizes, shapes and colors in a design contained within a hand-crafted mahogany box. The box is most often eight-sided and he frequently incorporates sailor's knots in his designs as the early versions would have had.
