Presented by Falmouth Community Television at Unknown

Artwork by Muriel Henault Locklin will be on display at the Maser Gallery from May 6 through May 31, 2018. The public is invited to an opening reception on Sunday, May 6, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.

As a world traveler, Muriel Henault Locklin’s photos of scenes and people have been the inspiration for her artwork. “Most of my work is representational,” explains Muriel, “sometimes historical, but always from the heart.”

Muriel received an Associates in Art with High Honors at Dean College in Franklin, MA in 1985, and a BA, MCL from Framingham State in 1990 with a major in Printmaking and minor in Art History. She also studied privately in Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Wales, UK, and here on Cape Cod. Her work is in private collections all over the US, Japan, France and Canada.

Over the years, Muriel’s prints, watercolors, oils, acrylics and mixed media have garnered many “Best in Show” and “Honorable Mention” awards in juried shows and exhibitions all around New England. In 2006, her painted whale for the “Cape Cod Whale Trail” was on display at McMillan Pier in Provincetown. She can be found in the 2006/2007 25th Anniversary Edition of “Who’s Who in American Women” and all subsequent editions. Most recently, she received 2nd Place in Best Printmaking at the Cape Cod Art Center in January of this year.

In addition to her talents, Muriel also gives her time to the community, currently volunteering for the Falmouth Historical Society as Art Director for the Falmouth Hospital Auxiliary art shows. After her post as Treasurer for the Printmakers of Cape Cod for 15 years, she took on her current position of Treasurer for the Bourne-Wareham Art Association. She is a member of the Falmouth Artists Guild and the Cape Cod Arts Center.
