If picturesque harbors and boats, lighthouses and rocky coastlines fuel your photographic passion, then you will want to join me for this photography/processing workshop based on the picturesque north shore of Massachusetts. Home to the famous Motif#1, we will spend time visiting and photographing Rockport with its picturesque lobster boats and fishing trawlers, lobster traps, buoys and much more. The nearby area boasts a beautiful rocky coastline, dotted with marshes and wetlands, as well as several scenic beaches and natural harbors. We will also visit and photograph several beautiful lighthouses nearby as well as the town of Gloucester, site of the movie “The Perfect Storm” which is also home to one of the largest fishing fleets in New England.  This area is truly a photographer’s paradise and most locations are within a 15-20 minute drive of our hotel.

September is a great time to visit the north shore and the weather should be relatively warm but not hot and much less crowded.  This workshop has been a sell-out in years past and this year I’m offering it through the Cape Cod Art Center for the first time.  I know this area well and I’m looking forward to taking you to some of my favorite spots.

Our workshop will begin on Wednesday afternoon, where after a meet and greet and orientation at our hotel, we will head out to one of our shooting locations for sunset. In the mornings we will be up early as we will want to capture the best light. Afternoons will be spent processing images where I will show you techniques for editing to take your images to their fullest potential.  After our processing sessions in the afternoon, we’ll head out for sunset. Our workshop will conclude on Saturday morning, after our sunrise shoot and breakfast. Our agenda will remain flexible and will be subject to change based upon weather conditions and light. I will always aim to have you at the best possible location depending upon the conditions at the time.

Additional information along with lodging details will be provided to all attendees.  A block of rooms has been reserved at a hotel in Rockport. Our hotel is in a great location and breakfast is included in the rate.  There is also a fire pit outside and terrific restaurants are near the hotel. Workshop participants will be required to contact the hotel on their own to make reservations.

The cost of this workshop is $675.00 and does not include lodging or meals (with the exception of breakfast served at the hotel).

This workshop will require some moderate walking but is not strenuous.
