Voices of Poetry, founded by poet and poetry activist Neil Silberblatt, will present an afternoon of poetry and music on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Brewster Ladies’ Library.
The program will honor and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the deaths of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, two men who inspired a generation and left a lasting impact on American history.
Featured poets include Tina Cane, Poet Laureate of Rhode Island; Patricia Gomes, Poet Laureate of New Bedford; Fred Marchant, Director of the Creative Writing Program and the Poetry Center at Suffolk University; and Candace Wiley, writing fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. In addition, pianist/cellist Lisa Gross will offer instrumental music.
Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
